BENEFITS OF MEMBERSHIP
REQUIREMENTS FOR MEMBERSHIP Should you want to join DHMA, here are some things you'll need:
Your invited to stop by the field. Club members will be glad to talk kits with you or if you've got one built (or nearly) we can check it out for you and offer any advice. Bring it to the field on a Saturday or Sunday and ask one of the members to give it a pre-flight and if you want and if all checks out OK, they can give it a check out flight. This highly recommended, not because we just want to fly your plane but because a qualified pilot has the experience to make any adjustments during flight and to handle any problems that arise from a plane that hasnt been set up just right. Learning to fly is not difficult, Its just a lot different than any thing you've done before. Anyone can learn to fly R/C if they are willing to learn and listen and conduct them-selves in a safe manner. What seems awkward at first quickly becomes easy later. An instructor will get you flying via a 'Buddy Box" which is simply a way of hooking your radio to his with a buddy cord so that while your flying and have a problem the instructor can take control instantly with the flip of a switch.
